Honda 800cc MotoGP Champion Last Mandatory

Will leave the 800cc MotoGP season in 2012 and switched to 1000cc.

Repsol Honda does not want to miss the opportunity to win the 800cc MotoGP series last season.



Since the 800cc MotoGP series was introduced in 2007, Honda always failed to win the world title. Last team this Japanese success was the 2006 season when it became world champion Nicky Hayden.

Will leave the 800cc MotoGP season in 2012 and switched to 1000cc. Vice President of Honda Racing Corporation, Shuhei Nakamoto, assessing his team would be disappointed if it failed to win the world title this season.

Honda was able to compete in the 800cc era, but always no luck. Last year Dani Pedrosa simply become runnerup at having to miss some series after an accident. While Pedrosa was the only rider who could scuttle step Jorge Lorenzo.

"It does not matter to me whether it is 800cc or 1000cc, I want to win. Honda's very disappointed because we could not win the world title long enough," said Nakamoto told Motorcyclenews, Monday, March 7, 2011.

"We are disappointed to have never won the 800cc class, so we hope to do it this year," lid Nakamoto.

Honda favorites this season after the two tests at Sepang, Malaysia, Honda-rider rider triumphed. Besides Pedrosa, Casey Stoner, Andrea Dovizioso and Marco Simoncelli impressive show and control the course of the test.
